Ja ich warte und ich warte und ich warte...

Here's a new plan:
I'm going to print this and it's going to be huge...about 80 x 110 cm or maybe even a bit bigger. Plus I'm going to use fluorescent yellow paint for the first time ever.

[Click for full view!]
I don't know when I'll be able to start printing this picture though, because there are currently no big screens available in the printing studio (some other students broke most of them), also a workshop is going to take place there during the next week.
So I'll have to wait...I hate waiting goddammit!

Filled with bitterness

My professor assignet my class to do at least one drawing every day for the next four weeks, so now I don't have a reason to be lazy anymore. :P

I'm not going to show every single drawing  here, because I'll mostly do crap like this:

...but I'll surely post some more of it during the next weeks. :)

Yes I'm still alive...somehow

It's done! Yesterday I finished my little brain sculptures, after working on them for about two eternities.
(They're about 20 cm tall. Plus they do wobble a bit, when you give them a light nudge, which is quite hypnotizing to watch.)

I still didn't get on with the third brain though, because that's the one I wanted to actually work like a Jack in the box, since its spring is soft enough. But I still couldn't figure out how to build a box that would hold the brain in the right place.

Also I'm currently procrastinating, which means I'm not really getting on with anything important. Yes, I know, there's still that other book I started in June (??) or so, but I still didn't get on with its third chapter. I only drew that Zomfish and that's it.
I knoooooow I should work on it...I just don't have any idea how to go on, I mean I don't have any ideas for pictures. I already thought of leaving the fith chapter away, so I would only have to draw about 18 more pictures instead of 27, which feesl a lot less pressuring. But that would be a bit lazy, wouldn't it? I don't know...I'll get to it someday soon...or just someday. I promise!

Now if you're wondering what procrastinating looks like, I'll give you an image:

I printed these for making bookcovers for sketchbooks and maybe another box, because I think I need to practise doing that a lot more, since I keep forgetting stuff about the work process when I'm not repeatedly doing it.

So coming up next: cloudy sketchbooks.

Hirnchen

It's been a while. The new semester began this week so I haven't had the time and nerves to start anything new.

But today I finally started making the boxes for my little brains, which is a fuckton of work...you wouldn't believe it! It took me the whole day to get this far:

First I had to tinker with the holding (those white plates) for the brains, so they won't tip inside the boxes. They're made of two plates of cardboard (which I glued togehter and laminated with white paper) with holes in them. It almost took half an hour until they were done!

These are the two boxes (the left one's about 11x11 cm and the right one's about  9x9 cm). It would take too long to explane every work step. But it was like: cutting, gluing, grinding, cutting, gluing, grinding, cutting, gluing and a lot of fiddling.

Here's one of the brains in its box. Since the spring is too stiff to work like a Jack in the box, the top of the box won't be closable in the end. So It will look like the lid has just been pushed open.
The black cords in the back are going to hold the lid in its place, but I first have to laminate the box (I chose gray for the outside and white for the inside), before I can glue the cords to their proper place.
Which I'm going to do tomorrow...? Or on Monday.

Are you dead yet

Here's a photo of my Zomberer linocut (paper size: 50 x 70 cm):

Plus some of the pages of the book I'm currently making (Today I finished printing them! And I guess I'm going to start binding the books on Thursday. ):

And here's some oil pastel drawing I did about 2 weeks ago:

So much for now!

Holding hands

I finally finished my Zomberer, but then I forgot my camera at home, so you'll have to wait for the photo.
Plus I was able to continue printing my book, but I fucked up some stuff and now I'll have to reprint 2 entire pages. But I guess I'm going to be done with that tomorrow, so I can start binding the book!

Just now I drew these lovely zombie hands:

I'd like to add a red/black version of them to my linocut booklet...but I kinda like the full colour version of them, too. So maybe I'll screen print them as well.
