I'm
still working on my Zomberer linocut. Today I started printing the
background, but I couldn't find any paint that looks like the blue I
used in the digital drawing, so now it's going to be some kind of muddy
green, which I don't like, but there wasn't any alternative, so fuck it.
Plus I still can't get on with my book, since there's now a workshop going on in the printing studio.
I really hope I can continue my work on that book project this weekend. :\
Also I'd like to print this new thing:
This one's from yesterday, it's the only thing I drew during the week.
The only other thing I did, was working on my Zomberer linocut. Today I finished the plate for the black layer of paint and prepared the one for the red layer.
I still couldn't go on with my book, because of all those other people working in the printing studio. But today a fellow student told me that the worst is over, so maybe I can continue printing my book this weekend or next week.
But that's it, I just can't come up with anything new, because I'm still grieving for my friend.
This week a friend of mine passed away.
I've known her for 10 years and now she's gone.
She used to like rainbows.
This is for her:
Here are some updates on how far I got with my linocuts:
1. I did some test-prints for my booklet.
2. I started to carve the black layer of my Zomberer.
There's still a lot to do!
Plus I still didn't get on with my screen prints, which is starting to piss me off.
Anyway...
just now I did this little drawing, which is dedicated to Paul:
I still didn't get on with my work at the studio. But I bought some new linoleum for the Zomberer and printed out the model image. The printing studio is still overrun, so I can't even prepare any screens there. :(
On Saturday I went to see my friend Annas exhibition and on Sunday I took a break from everything, that's why I didn't really get on with my stuff.
But today I pulled myself together and drew a new zombie (yup, I'm in that mood again), though I have to admit, it's not my best piece of work.
News!
Today the workshop manager of the printing studio told me that I probably won't be able to do a lot of screen prints during the next 2 weeks, because there are 2 other students who have to prepare their final exams there.
Well...fuck. I'd actually like to get on with my book someday.
But since my elbow still hurts I can't do any screen prints anyway. So I thought I could get back to doing more lino cuts.
This evening I drew another zombie, which I'd like to start carving this week (though I forgot to check if I still have enough linoleum left for that).
Still newsless...just redrawing some old stuff of mine:
It's been a while! I'm still working on my book (today I finished printing the third layer of sheets of paper out of 5), that's why there's nothig new to tell.
The only other thing I did was playing around with some old graphics of mine, which ended up looking like this:
Also my joints started hurting again, sooooo...time for a printing break!
